Leonardo Bueno, designer from Maria da Fe, Southern town of the Brazilian state, Minas Gerais.  He uses environmentally friendly wood from around the world, discarded as waste and transform it into pieces of art and design.

Bueno has exhibited his work in  France, UK, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Brazil.

Porfirio Valadares, architect, chose the design. Graduated in Architecture and with a consistent production of furniture for over twenty years, Porfirio was established in the design market with pieces of large formal elegance. His work has twice been a finalist for the ‘Museu da Casa Brasileira’ Prize, and winner in 1994 and was awarded the Top XXI Market Design in 2007.

The architect works in wood, his preferred material, with mastery. His work highlights the broad knowledge and mastery that has the raw material used, as well as the formal possibilities and shapes it allows. The chaise Alvaro illustrates Porfirio’s work. The inventive construction solution dispenses artifices that mask the skeleton of the piece. The curves that characterizes the chaise resolve all its parts: seat, back and base of support. The beautiful plastic part result is consequence of the architect’s ability to work also, form, function and construction techniques.
